August, 2007
Hello. I hope you are all well and are enjoying the last bit of summer. As for me, I would say that I look forward to when the kids go back to school but than I realize oops, I'm the teacher. :) Actually I am looking forward to this year and my son is now attending the local community college earning high school and college classes. I am so proud.
Things have been going great career-wise. I just got back from an LA trip where I met some fantastic people and made great connections. I got to meet Linda Obst, producer for films such as "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days", "The Siege", "Contact", "Sleepless in Seattle" and got a signed copy of her best-selling book, "Hello, He Lied & Other Truths from the Hollywood Trenches,". What a blast! Although I do travel back and forth between Northern and Southern CA, I look forward to when I move down permanently.
While in LA, I had a test shoot ( thru Toni Suttie from Integrity Casting) for a national jeans campaign and should know soon if I got the gig. Wish me well!!!
THE CROW PURGATORY II is getting fantastic response. With its successful screening at the Festival de Cannes, it is now hitting other fests including the Oakland International Film Festival and this year's SiliCon in October. ( Check here for more info.)
But first, I welcome you to see a screening of the film at the Purple Onion on September 22 in SF, where I will join the director - Desciple and actor - David Lockhart for a Q & A. Click here for ticket info. Hope to see you there! I am very excited to say you will also be able to see the film in its entirety on Berkeley's CH28's new TV show called HORRORTV. Date and time info soon to come.
CURSE OF THE SMOKE O LANTERN is moving along and trailer should be out soon.
I am really excited to see how this year will unfold and what kind of gifts it will bring. Although I have had to postpone some projects, I am excited about the current ones I am working on and know the right time will come along for those I had to set aside.
Wishing you all the best!!
Until next month,
Sharise
