Balancing Act - Issue 4: Section 4

I know for a long time I struggled with knowing I didn't have a "dancer's physique". Some dancers look as they've dropped in from the sky and some look like they've grown from the earth. I am the latter - certainly not ballerina material. And now I am glad because I would have lost out on so much that I love if I had only focused on ballet.

Now I am back working again, not compromising my spirit or my heart. I find I am freer in my work, have a lot more fun, am more accepting of myself and am honestly happy for someone else's success. I am learning to say "no" a whole lot faster now which leaves me more time for those things I want to say "yes" to.

Sometimes I am confused. Where do I fit in? Sometimes I am "too ethnic," sometimes "not ethnic enough." "Too sexy," Not "commercial enough" "Too attractive to be a mom?" WTH does that one mean??

This career ( not to mention- life) can make you crazy, but when I get overwhelmed and I shut my mouth long enough to hear my heart, my spirit's voice. I calm down, knowing the right opportunity will come and I do have a place. And so do you.

Until next month, may you have a blessed Summer.

Sharise
