Finally, listen to good music, watch a comedy, do something creative, pray, play football with your kids, see the innocence in a child's face, or smell a babies toes. Talk to someone about your feelings - even yourself. I talk to myself all the time in the car. With hands free cell phones, passerbys just think I am yelling at someone on the phone- so go for it ( just don't get into an accident )
And don't listen to so much news that you are weighed down. Limit news time to an hour a day if necessary and abstain from it at least once a week - don't worry, if it is that important - you'll hear about it anyway. Somebody will inform you as "misery loves company" and on that note - refuse to be miserable by the ebbs and flows of what is going on. In the end, again all we have control over is ourselves.
Now that doesn't mean be idle. If you are passionate about something and want to act on a cause - Do It. Volunteer, donate, write your Congress, make yourself heard. Do something because it will empower you. and doing nothing and will not improve our world. However, neither will being overwhelmed. So choose your battles and then fight with all your might to win them - within legal limits of course
So in closing, respect yourself. By doing that you respect the ones you love and will be able to be ready for whatever you are called on to do next. Be a warrior - make yourself strong in mind and body for whatever lies ahead. Take care of yourself because whatever it is that is going on around you well, "this too shall end."
God bless!
