Turmeric Tea

Curcumin, found the spice turmeric, has many health benefits.

  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Boosts immune system
  • Lowers cholesterol
  • Helps with IBS
  • Protects against diabetes
  • Helps lower cholesterol
  • Studies show it to be a potent cancer fighter.

In studies, according to researchers from the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, curcumin blocks a key biological pathway needed for development of melanoma and other cancers.

In the fight against cancer Curcumin shows promise in:

  • Inhibiting the proliferation of tumor cells
  • Inhibiting the transformation of cells from normal to tumor
  • Helping your body destroy mutated cancer cells so they cannot spread throughout  the body
  • Enhancing liver function
  • Inhibiting the synthesis of a protein thought to be instrumental in tumor formation
  • Preventing the development of additional blood supply necessary for cancer to grow

Here are some ways I enjoy my turmeric tea

  • I typically add 2oz of turmeric tea to 16oz of water
  • You can strain the tea through a fine sieve into a cup if you prefer (though I tend to just drink the spice entirely)
  • Add honey or stevia and/or lemon to taste
  • Drink up to 2x a day

Tip: To get the full benefits from curcumin, you will want to look for a turmeric extract with at least 95% curcuminoids that contains only 100% certified organic ingredients.

Tip:  Be careful when working with turmeric as it can stain surfaces.
